Daniel Shaw
I'm Daniel Shaw—retired Marine Corps Infantry Unit Leader, combat veteran, firefighter, Advanced EMT, and lifelong student. I've spent more than three decades leading, teaching, and serving in environments where clear thinking and decisive action are essential.
I served sixteen years on active duty with the Marine Corps, including two combat deployments to Iraq. I was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for valor and heroic achievement during the Battle of An Nasiriyah in 2003. I spent years as an Infantry Unit Leader and Instructor Trainer, teaching thousands of Marines and multinational forces in high-risk environments where lives depended on getting it right the first time.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, I continued to serve as a defense and tactical trainer and firefighter/AEMT. I'm currently a volunteer firefighter, Advanced EMT, and wildland firefighter. I've responded to structure fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, and disaster zones where help was hours or days away. I've worked in volunteer leadership in disaster relief with organizations such as Team Rubicon and have responded to numerous disasters with Samaritan's Purse. In 2023, my wife and I co-founded Team Whimsy U.S. Disaster Response, leading volunteers in logistics, work order management, route clearance, debris management, and emergency tree work.

I've also spent years teaching tactical and medical skills to law enforcement, military, and responsible armed citizens through my company, Shaw Strategies. I've trained officers, tactical teams, and the Marine Presidential Guard Force at Camp David. I've presented regularly at the Ohio Tactical Officers Annual Training Conference and trained teams across fifteen states. I hold instructor certifications from the Department of Homeland Security (Stop The Bleed), the Arkansas Fire Training Academy, the Department of War, and multiple other training organizations.
I hold a Master's degree in English, a Bachelor's in Business Management, and technical certifications in pre-healthcare studies, Emergency Medical Technology, and Advanced EMT. I'm an IFSAC-certified Firefighter I and II, a registered NREMT EMT, and an adjunct instructor at the Arkansas Fire Training Academy.
My goal is straightforward: to equip you with practical, real-world skills that genuinely help you protect yourself and the people you care about. Every class I build comes from experience, not theory, and I teach the same way I lead—calm, clear, and focused on helping you become better than you were when we first met.
